How does the DLT Gateway handle private key storage?

The DLT Gateway handles the storage of private keys by utilizing a dedicated Wallet located within the broader Distributed Ledger Technology (DLT) Component architecture.

Secure Storage via the Wallet

This Wallet is explicitly designed to safely house both the private keys and the digital certificates that are generated and required for cryptographic authentication.

Because the architecture relies on permissioned networks like Hyperledger Fabric or the NEC Blockchain, every node and client must possess a verified identity assigned by a Certificate Authority. By securely maintaining these private keys and certificates within the Wallet, the DLT Gateway can seamlessly authenticate its communications, submit transactions, and interact with the distributed ledger on behalf of the Cognitive Controller domains.
